Description

Explosive sit-up with rapid trunk flexion. Develops the core power needed for getting up quickly, combat sports, and rotational athletes.

Coaching Cues

  • Lie flat, arms overhead. Snap up explosively using abs. Reach toward toes at top. Lower with control—don't slam down. Keep feet anchored. Use momentum on the way up only.

Contraindications

Avoid with low back pain. Keep lower back in contact with floor during descent.
