Athlete Onboarding Guide

Welcome to PlyoPlanner! Your coach has invited you to train with them. This guide will help you get started.


Accepting Your Coach's Invitation

You've Received an Email

Your coach sent you an invitation to connect on PlyoPlanner. Here's what to do:

Step 1: Click the Invitation Link

Open the email from PlyoPlanner and click the Accept Invitation button or link.

Step 2: Sign In or Create Account

If you already have a PlyoPlanner account:
1. Sign in with your email and password
2. Click Accept Invitation
3. You're connected!

If you're new to PlyoPlanner:
1. You'll see a registration form
2. Your email is already filled in
3. Enter your name
4. Create a password (8+ characters)
5. Click Create Account & Accept Invitation

Step 3: Access Your Training

Once connected, you'll see My Training in the navigation. This is your athlete dashboard.

What You'll See

Your My Training dashboard shows:

  • Your Coach(es): Who you're training with
  • Assigned Plans: Training programs your coach has given you
  • Status: Where you are with each assignment

Assignment Statuses Explained

Status Meaning
Assigned New plan from your coach - ready to start
In Progress You've started this plan
Completed You've finished this plan

Working Through Your Training

Viewing an Assigned Plan

  1. Click on any assigned plan in your dashboard
  2. You'll see the full training program:
    • All exercises in order
    • Sets, reps, and rest periods
    • Coach notes and instructions

Starting a Plan

When you're ready to begin:

  1. Open the assigned plan
  2. Click Start
  3. The status changes to "In Progress"
  4. Your coach can see you've begun

Completing a Plan

When you've finished the training:

  1. Open the plan
  2. Click Complete
  3. The status changes to "Completed"
  4. Your coach is notified of your progress

Understanding Your Training Plans

Exercise Information

Each exercise in your plan shows:

  • Name: The exercise to perform
  • Sets × Reps: How many sets and repetitions
  • Rest: Recovery time between sets

Reading Coach Notes

Your coach may include notes with your assignment. Look for these above or below the exercise list. Notes often contain:

  • Training focus for the week
  • Technique reminders
  • Intensity guidelines
  • Recovery recommendations

Exercise Details

Click on any exercise name to see:

  • Full description
  • Step-by-step coaching cues
  • Equipment needed
  • Video demonstration (when available)

If You Have Multiple Coaches

Some athletes work with more than one coach (e.g., team coach and personal trainer).

  • All your coaches appear in your dashboard
  • Assignments from each coach are listed together
  • Plans are labeled with the assigning coach's name

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to pay for PlyoPlanner?

No! Athletes connected to a coach have free access to view and complete assigned plans.

Can I create my own training plans?

Yes! You can use the free tier to:
- Browse the exercise library
- Create up to 3 personal training plans
- Use the template library

Want unlimited plans? Upgrade to PlyoPlanner+ for $9/month.

What if I can't complete a plan?

Life happens! You can leave a plan "In Progress" and return to it later. If you need different training, talk to your coach.

Can I decline a coach's invitation?

Yes. When viewing the invitation, click Decline. Your coach will be notified and no connection is made.

How do I disconnect from a coach?

Contact your coach directly to discuss ending the coaching relationship. They can remove you from their roster.

I didn't receive the invitation email

  1. Check your spam/junk folder
  2. Ask your coach to verify your email address
  3. Request a resend of the invitation

Before Each Session

  1. Review the full plan
  2. Read coach notes
  3. Prepare equipment
  4. Warm up properly

During Training

  • Focus on quality over speed
  • Rest fully between sets
  • Listen to your body

After Completing

  1. Mark the plan as complete
  2. Note anything to discuss with your coach
  3. Recover properly before next session
