Welcome to PlyoPlanner, the professional tool for creating plyometric training programs. This guide covers everything you need to know to get the most out of PlyoPlanner.

Getting Started

Creating an Account

  1. Click Sign Up in the top navigation
  2. Enter your name, email, and password (minimum 8 characters)
  3. Check your email for a confirmation link
  4. Click the confirmation link to activate your account
  5. Sign in to start using PlyoPlanner

Your First Training Plan

  1. Browse the Exercise Library to explore available exercises
  2. Click Training Plans in the navigation
  3. Click New Plan to create your first training plan
  4. Add exercises, configure sets and reps, and save your work

Exercise Library

The Exercise Library contains a comprehensive database of plyometric exercises designed for athletes and trainers.

Browsing Exercises

  • Exercises are displayed in a paginated list (20 per page)
  • Each exercise shows:
    • Name and difficulty level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)
    • Category (Lower Body, Upper Body, Core, Full Body)
    • Primary muscles targeted
  • Click any exercise to view full details

Searching Exercises

  • Use the search bar at the top of the exercise list
  • Search finds matches in exercise names and descriptions
  • Results update automatically as you type (no need to press Enter)
  • Click Clear to reset your search

Filtering Exercises

Filter exercises to find exactly what you need:

Difficulty Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Category Lower Body, Upper Body, Core, Full Body
Primary Muscle Quads, Glutes, Hamstrings, Calves, Core, etc.
Equipment Box, Hurdles, Medicine Ball, Cones, None
Motion Type Jumping, Hopping, Bounding, etc.
  • Filters combine with AND logic (selecting Beginner + Lower Body shows exercises matching both)
  • Your filter selections are preserved in the URL for easy sharing
  • Click Clear Filters to reset all filters

Exercise Details

Click any exercise to view complete information:

  • Description: What the exercise is and its benefits
  • Coaching Cues: Step-by-step instructions for proper form
  • Muscles Targeted: Primary and secondary muscles worked
  • Equipment Needed: Required and optional equipment
  • Contraindications: When to avoid this exercise
  • Video: Demonstration video (when available)

Training Plan Builder

Create customized plyometric training programs for yourself or your clients.

Creating a New Plan

  1. Navigate to Training Plans
  2. Click New Plan
  3. Fill in the plan details:
    • Name: Give your plan a descriptive name
    • Description: Explain the plan's purpose and target audience
    • Goal: Select from Vertical Jump, Speed, Agility, Power, or General
    • Difficulty: Match to your athletes' level
  4. Click Create Plan to start building

Adding Exercises

Once in the plan builder:

  1. Browse or search exercises in the right panel
  2. Click an exercise to add it to your plan
  3. The exercise appears at the bottom of your plan
  4. Default sets and reps are based on difficulty level

Configuring Exercise Parameters

For each exercise in your plan, you can set:

Parameter Range Default
Sets 1-10 Based on difficulty
Reps 1-30 Based on difficulty
Rest 0-300 seconds 60 seconds

Changes save automatically as you type.

Reordering Exercises

  • Click and drag the handle (⋮⋮) on the left of any exercise
  • Drop it in the desired position
  • The order is saved automatically

Removing Exercises

  • Click the X button on any exercise row
  • Confirm the deletion when prompted
  • The exercise is removed and remaining exercises reposition automatically

Volume Calculator

The volume calculator helps you monitor training load:

  • Total Foot Contacts: Sum of (sets × reps) for all exercises
  • Color coding indicates volume level:
    • Green (< 100): Light volume, good for beginners or recovery
    • Yellow (100-150): Moderate volume, appropriate for most athletes
    • Red (> 150): High volume, use with caution

Publishing Plans

Plans have two states:

  • Draft: Can be edited freely
  • Published: Locked for editing (ensures consistency)

To publish:
1. Click Publish on your plan
2. Published plans display a "Published" badge
3. To edit again, click Unpublish to revert to draft

Duplicating Plans

Create a copy of any plan:

  1. Open the plan you want to copy
  2. Click Duplicate
  3. A new draft copy is created with "(Copy)" appended to the name
  4. Edit the copy as needed

Templates

Templates are pre-built training plans you can use as starting points.

Browsing Templates

  1. Navigate to Templates in the main navigation
  2. Browse available templates by goal and difficulty
  3. Click any template to preview its contents

Available Template Categories

Using a Template

  1. Find a template that matches your needs
  2. Click Use Template
  3. A copy is created as your own draft plan
  4. Customize the exercises, sets, reps, and rest periods
  5. Rename and save as your own plan

Saving Your Plans as Templates

Share your best plans with the community:

  1. Create and publish a training plan
  2. Click Save as Template
  3. Your plan is added to the template library

Plan Limits (Free Tier)

Free users can create up to 3 training plans. When you reach this limit:

  • You'll see a message prompting you to upgrade
  • Existing plans remain fully accessible
  • Upgrade to Plus for unlimited plans

Subscribing to Plus

  1. Click the Upgrade button or visit your Subscription page
  2. You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure checkout
  3. Complete payment with your credit card
  4. Your account is upgraded immediately
  5. Access all Plus features right away

Managing Your Subscription

From your Subscription page, you can:

  • View your current plan status
  • See your billing period dates
  • Access the Stripe billing portal to:
    • Update payment method
    • View invoices
    • Cancel subscription

Cancellation

  • Cancel anytime through the billing portal
  • Your Plus features remain active until the end of your billing period
  • After expiration, you revert to the free tier
  • Your existing plans remain, but creation is limited to 3

Calendar Scheduling

Plus Feature

Schedule your training plans on a calendar to stay organized.

Accessing the Calendar

  1. Click Schedule in the navigation (Plus subscribers only)
  2. View the current week by default
  3. Navigate between weeks using the arrow buttons

Scheduling a Workout

  1. Click on any date in the calendar
  2. Select a training plan from your library
  3. Optionally add notes for that session
  4. Click Schedule to add it to your calendar

Viewing Scheduled Workouts

  • Each day shows scheduled workouts as cards
  • Click a workout to see the full plan details
  • Icons indicate completion status

Completing Workouts

When you finish a scheduled workout:

  1. Click Complete on the scheduled workout
  2. You'll be prompted to log your workout details
  3. The workout moves to your history

Removing Scheduled Workouts

  • Click the X on any scheduled workout to remove it
  • This does not delete the training plan, only the scheduled instance

Workout Logging

Plus Feature

Track your completed workouts with detailed logs.

Logging a Workout

After completing a scheduled workout (or manually):

  1. Navigate to History or complete a scheduled workout
  2. Click Log Workout
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Training Plan: Select the plan you completed
    • Duration: How long the workout took (minutes)
    • Perceived Difficulty: Rate 1-5 how hard it felt
    • Notes: Any observations or adjustments made
  4. Click Save to record your workout

Viewing Workout History

  1. Click History in the navigation
  2. See all your logged workouts in reverse chronological order
  3. Each entry shows:
    • Date and time
    • Training plan name
    • Duration and difficulty rating
  4. Click any entry to view full details

Workout Details

The workout detail view shows:

  • Complete training plan with all exercises
  • Your notes from that session
  • Links to related scheduled plan (if applicable)

Client Management (For Coaches)

Plus Feature

Manage athlete clients, assign training plans, and track their progress.

Accessing Client Management

  1. Subscribe to PlyoPlanner+
  2. Click Coaching in the navigation
  3. View your Coaching Dashboard

Coaching Dashboard

The dashboard shows:

  • Total number of clients (pending and active)
  • Recent client activity
  • Quick actions to invite clients or assign plans

Inviting Clients

  1. From the Coaching Dashboard, click Invite Client
  2. Enter the client's email address
  3. Click Send Invitation
  4. The client receives an email with an invitation link

What happens next:
- If the client has a PlyoPlanner account, they sign in and accept
- If they're new, they'll create an account during the invitation process
- Once accepted, they appear in your active clients list

Managing Clients

From your Clients list:

  • View all pending and active clients
  • Click a client to see their profile and assigned plans
  • Resend invitations for pending clients
  • Remove clients when needed

Client Statuses

Status Meaning
Pending Invitation sent, awaiting acceptance
Active Client has accepted and is connected
Removed Client has been removed from your roster

Assigning Training Plans

  1. Go to your client's profile page
  2. Click Assign Plan
  3. Select a training plan from your library
  4. Optionally add coach notes for the client
  5. Click Assign

The client receives an email notification and sees the plan in their dashboard.

Assignment Statuses

Status Meaning
Assigned Plan sent to client, not started
In Progress Client has started the plan
Completed Client has completed the plan

Tracking Client Progress

From your Coaching Dashboard:

  • See which clients have active assignments
  • View completion status of assigned plans
  • Monitor client engagement over time

Progress Reports

Generate professional PDF progress reports for your athletes:

  1. Go to Coaching > Clients and select an athlete
  2. Click Generate Report in the Progress Tracking section
  3. Select a date range for the report period
  4. Click Download PDF

Reports include:

  • Athlete summary and coach information
  • Quick stats: total entries, PRs achieved, metrics tracked
  • Per-metric breakdown with current values, PRs, and progress changes
  • Complete entry log with dates, values, and PR indicators

Share these reports with parents, athletic directors, or use them for athlete performance reviews.

Athlete Comparison

Compare two athletes' progress side-by-side:

  1. Go to Coaching > Compare Athletes (requires at least 2 active clients)
  2. Select the first athlete from your client list
  3. Select the second athlete to compare against
  4. Choose a date range for the comparison period
  5. Click Compare

The comparison view shows:

  • Side-by-side metrics for both athletes
  • "Leading" indicator for the athlete with the better current value
  • PR and progress change for each metric
  • Overlay charts showing both athletes' trends on the same graph

Use comparisons to identify training gaps, celebrate progress, or motivate healthy competition between athletes.


Clubs & Teams

Clubs bring together coaches and teams under one organization for streamlined management.

Creating a Club

  1. Click Clubs in the navigation
  2. Click Create Club
  3. Enter a name and description for your organization
  4. You become the club admin automatically

Club Roles

Role Permissions
Admin Full control: manage teams, coaches, settings, analytics, archive/delete
Coach View assigned teams, manage athletes on their teams, bulk assign plans

Managing Teams

Teams are organized within your club by sport, gender, and season.

Creating a Team:

  1. Go to your club dashboard
  2. Click New Team
  3. Fill in: name, sport, gender, and optional season info
  4. Assign coaches to the team

Season Management:

Teams can have season labels (e.g., "Spring 2026") with optional start/end dates:

  • Add season info when creating or editing a team
  • Copy for New Season: Creates a duplicate team with all coaches for the next season
  • Archive: Removes a team from the active list without deleting it
  • Restore: Brings an archived team back to the active list
  • Toggle Show Archived on the teams list to view past seasons

Bulk Plan Assignment

Assign a training plan to all athletes on a team at once:

  1. Go to a team's page
  2. Click Assign Plan to Team
  3. Select one of your training plans
  4. All active athletes on the team receive the assignment

Club Analytics

View aggregated progress data across all teams in your club:

  1. Go to your club dashboard
  2. Click Club Analytics
  3. Use the period selector (7 days, 30 days, 90 days) to adjust the timeframe

The analytics dashboard shows:

  • Summary cards: Total athletes, active teams, improvement rate, athletes needing attention
  • Status breakdown: Club-wide athlete status distribution
  • Team-by-team grid: Per-team athlete counts and status breakdowns
  • Top athletes: Top 10 athletes across the club (declining athletes highlighted first)
  • Metric summaries: Club-wide performance metrics

Multi-Club Navigation

If you belong to multiple clubs:

  • A club switcher dropdown appears in the navigation bar
  • Your coaching dashboard groups teams by club
  • Click any club name to go directly to that club's dashboard

My Training (For Athletes)

If you've been invited by a coach, you have access to the client experience.

Accepting a Coach Invitation

  1. Check your email for an invitation from your coach
  2. Click the invitation link
  3. If you have an account, sign in
  4. If you're new, complete the registration form
  5. Click Accept Invitation

You're now connected with your coach!

Client Dashboard

Access your training by clicking My Training in the navigation.

Your dashboard shows:

  • Your connected coach(es)
  • Assigned training plans
  • Current assignment status

Viewing Assigned Plans

  1. Click on any assigned plan to see details
  2. View all exercises with sets, reps, and rest periods
  3. Read any notes from your coach

Starting and Completing Assignments

  • Click Start when you begin working on an assignment
  • Click Complete when you finish
  • Your coach is notified of your progress

Declining Coach Invitations

If you don't want to train with a coach:

  1. Click the invitation link
  2. Click Decline Invitation
  3. The coach is notified and the invitation is removed

Account Management

Editing Your Profile

  1. Click your name/avatar in the navigation
  2. Select Edit Profile
  3. Update your name or email
  4. Click Save

Changing Your Password

  1. Go to Edit Profile
  2. Enter your current password
  3. Enter and confirm your new password
  4. Click Update

Email Changes

When you change your email:

  • A confirmation is sent to your new address
  • Click the confirmation link to complete the change
  • Your old email remains active until confirmed

FAQ

General Questions

Q: Is PlyoPlanner free to use?
A: Yes! PlyoPlanner offers a free tier with full access to the exercise library, templates, and up to 3 training plans. For unlimited plans and premium features, upgrade to PlyoPlanner+ for $9/month.

Q: What devices does PlyoPlanner work on?
A: PlyoPlanner is a responsive web application that works on desktops, tablets, and mobile phones through your web browser.

Q: Can I use PlyoPlanner offline?
A: PlyoPlanner requires an internet connection to access and save your data.

Training Plans

Q: What's the difference between a draft and published plan?
A: Draft plans can be edited freely. Published plans are locked to prevent accidental changes. You can unpublish a plan to edit it again.

Q: Can I delete a training plan?
A: Yes, you can delete any of your training plans. This action cannot be undone.

Q: What happens to my plans if I cancel Plus?
A: Your plans remain in your account. You just can't create new plans beyond the free limit of 3.

Subscription

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?
A: Go to your Subscription page and click "Manage Billing" to access the Stripe portal where you can cancel.

Q: Will I lose my data if I cancel?
A: No, all your training plans, workout history, and client relationships are preserved. You'll lose access to Plus features until you resubscribe.

Q: Can I get a refund?
A: Contact support for refund requests. We handle these on a case-by-case basis.

Client Management

Q: Can a client have multiple coaches?
A: Yes, athletes can be connected to multiple coaches and see all their assignments in one place.

Q: What does my client see?
A: Clients see only the plans you assign to them. They cannot see your other plans or your other clients.

Q: Do clients need a Plus subscription?
A: No, clients don't need Plus. Only coaches need Plus to use client management features.

Technical Issues

Q: I'm not receiving confirmation emails
A: Check your spam folder. If emails still aren't arriving, contact support.

Q: The page isn't loading correctly
A: Try refreshing the page, clearing your browser cache, or using a different browser.

Q: I forgot my password
A: Click "Forgot Password" on the sign-in page and follow the instructions to reset it.
